Summer Term Learning

Summer Term curriculum takes the children on an exciting journey around the world, looking at the UK and North America in Geography! Children will then travel back in time in History to continue their learning about the Tudors, focusing on Tudor Explorers. 

Children will develop their understanding and appreciation for art by studying the work of Pablo Picasso and interpreting his work to create their own piece inspired by his style.

In Design and Technology, children will develop their life skills learning a range of cooking techniques. We may even have the next Gordon Ramsey by the end of the unit. This is certainly something the whole family can practise and enjoy together at home!

Children will continue to develop their holistic understanding of their own and other religions by studying Islam and Judaism.

In Science, children will continue to develop their knowledge on animals and humans, looking specifically at teeth and digestion.

Topics covered in English will help children to consolidate all the writing skills they have been practising in Year 4, writing a range of fiction and non- fiction texts including: explanation texts, persuasive and formal letters, play scripts, performance poetry and adverts.

Learning in maths will focus on revising and deepening children’s understanding of number, geometry, measure and statistics.

We will upload work so pupils can learn the concepts mentioned above.
