Spelling Overviews
Spellings are given out each week for pupils to learn. Each week, class teachers will teach the pupils the spelling patterns and test them on how well they have learnt them.
Parents can help their children to practice their spellings at home. You can find the Overviews for each Year group of the words that they will be taught each week.
A useful technique to use is 'Look, Cover, Write, Check'.
1. Look at the word and read it out aloud
2. Cover the word up
3. Write the word
4. Check the spelling
Repeat this ten times for each word!
