We have a range of books to choose from at Wood End Park Academy. Children follow the Star Reading scheme! The books are new, bright and fresh, with plenty of texts you can choose from. 

 

 

Most schemes begin in the Foundation Stage and progressively become more difficult. For example, Key Stage 1 books are written with a mix of high- frequency and decodable words to develop a range of reading strategies.

Children learn to read at different rates, so it shouldn’t become competitive, but keep reading to them, and talk about what you read. This will help your child to become inquisitive about books and want to read for themsel ves. 

WEPA Star readers are awarded on how many books can they read? Children can earn certificates as they journey towards the ultimate goal of the very special Wood End Park Academy Star Reader Badge.
