The Year 1 Summer Term curriculum takes the children to the local area. In Geography, the children will find out about about local amenities and parks. They will make their own terrifying monster in DT. In music, children will expand their knowledge and appreciation of world music, singing songs from around the world. 

In Science, children will continue to develop their knowledge on plants and also begin to study various materials and their exciting properties. 

Topics covered in English will help children to consolidate all the writing skills they have been practising in year 1, writing a range of fiction and non-fiction texts including stories, poetry and fact files. 

Learning in maths will focus on telling the time and learning to measure.

In preparation for Year 2, PSHE will focus on relationships with friends and preparing for their exciting journey into Year 2.
