Digital Strategy

At Wood End Park Academy, technology plays an important role in enhancing learning and preparing pupils for an increasingly digital world. From Year 3 onwards, every pupil has access to their own Chromebook, enabling them to develop digital skills and access high-quality learning opportunities across the curriculum. Technology is not used as a replacement for traditional teaching methods, books or practical resources; instead, it is carefully integrated to enrich learning, deepen understanding and provide opportunities for collaboration, creativity and independent study.
We use a range of digital platforms, including Accelerated Reader, Times Tables Rock Stars and Magma Maths, to support assessment, identify gaps in learning and provide personalised practice that helps pupils make strong progress. Alongside this, pupils receive explicit e-safety education, including guidance on social media, online behaviours, cyber security and the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence. This ensures our pupils become confident, responsible and digitally literate citizens, fully prepared for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
