Free School Meals

All children within London are entitled to free school meals thanks to the Mayor of London.

Even though all primary-aged children in London currently receive free school meals, it is still important to apply if your child is eligible. Registration enables the school to receive additional Pupil Premium funding, which helps provide your child with extra educational support, interventions, resources, free trips and free enrichment opportunities. This funding can make a significant difference to your child's achievement, wellbeing and future outcomes.

Eligibility

Your child may be eligible if you receive certain benefits, including Universal Credit, Income Support, income-based JSA or ESA, Pension Credit, or Child Tax Credit. Your child may also be eligible for pupil premium funding if they have been eligible for FSM within the last six years.

Looked-after children and previously looked-after children are also eligible for pupil premium funding.
Service children may attract Service Pupil Premium if a parent serves in the armed forces.

To apply for Free School Meals or Pupil Premium funding, you must provide the school with the following:

  • your National Insurance number / NASS number (can be found on your benefit letters)
  • your date of birth
  • your surname
  • your full address
  • your child(ren)'s details.
